The world´s first CO2-free vehicle plant

During 2005 Göteborg Energi and AB Volvo initiated an exciting joint venture project. The Tuve factory on Hisingen will be the world´s first carbon-dioxide-free vehicle factory.

Volvo and Göteborg Energi jointly drew up a package of measures that will not only make the Tuve factory carbon-dioxide-free but also put it at the forefront of development towards a more sustainable industrial society.

The package of measures combines electricity from five wind turbines, heat from a newly built biofuel plant and far-reaching energy efficiency improvements in the plant.

The result will be the world´s first CO2-free vehicle plant.
